July 2012 Maintenance Report
2011 and a half; time flies when you’re having fun. The High Sky Maintenance Team (HSMT for short) has done an incredible job of maintaining the wing’s fleet as well as the privately owned aircraft that lend their admirable participation to HSW events. HSW has a few more scheduled events before we go into hibernation. Most importantly Airsho 12 is rapidly approaching and all aircraft and facilities need a little TLC before we roll out the welcome mat.
I want to put out a special thanks to David Linebarger for acquiring two new swamp coolers and making the roll-arounds for them. This is the only way the HSMT could possibly get anything accomplished in the hangar during this oppressive heat.
The HSMT has four annuals to get out of the way before Airsho so most of the team will be very busy on aircraft. If you have a few hours to help us get the hangar in shape, maintenance will do our best to keep it that way. Once again thanks your participation and always remember “Keep Um Flyin”
June 2012 Maintenance Report
KNUCKLEBUSTERS CORNER JUNE 2012
I’m sure most of you have been in the situation of waiting for a child to be born; immeasurable excitement as well as doubts of what this event will bring to your future. That is the way I am feeling about the prospect of taking another T-28 into our fleet. To have two T-28s to put up with the SNJs will make for very nice flyovers and will truly elevate the Wing’s presence in area and in the CAF family.
The current maintenance staff are highly dedicated to keeping our fleet in top condition, but even with the increase in our numbers over the past six to nine months the ability to keep up with all of the maintenance needs takes more time than should be expected from these individuals. Airsho 2012 is just a little over four months away and the Wing must assure all aircraft are in the best condition possible. To make a long story short, any help you can donate to the cause will be greatly appreciated.
The Kate has some new mechanical issues that must be ironed out over the next few weeks. The Wing’s T-28 is getting closer to initial startup test. Currently all other aircraft are in fairly good shape”knock on wood”. “All is good” and “Keep um flyin”
