In support of Reel Thanx, Riders 4 Fighters once again took to the street to show appreciation for our wounded warriors today. Among those honoring our heroes were HSW members Col and Mrs. Ralph Gillette, the Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol and Escort, and members of the Patriot Guard. We hope to see you out there next time. Announcements will be made on this web page, in the monthly newsletter and in our monthly meetings.
The Orientation and Safety Training scheduled for Saturday, May 4th, has been cancelled. The next session will take place on Saturday, June 1st.
The next High Sky Wing Meeting will be this Thursday, April 25th. Remember the beginning time has been changed to 6:30 p.m. Please bring your favorite covered dish for dinner. Cost $5. See you there!
On Saturday, March 16th, the Wing’s T-28A (646) restoration project returned to the skies for the first time in several years. The test flight was conducted by Col. Bob Keating at the controls. Mark Haskin flew T-28 643 as chase and observer aircraft. The flight was about 40 minutes with Bob reporting a few squawks, but the flight was a tremendous success. Congratulations to all the hard working folks who have shed blood, sweat, and tears to get 646 back in the air. Test flights will hopefully continue in short order. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this momentus occasion.
Update: A 5:45 minute video of the flight is now available. 646 First Flight (requires Quicktime player)
